On returning to Dehradun on Thursday after representing Uttarakhand in the 83rd Senior Badminton Championship in Guwahati, Assam, the eminent badminton player Kuhu Garg stated that India should boycott Pakistan in every section of sports. She also dedicated her silver and bronze medals won in mixed doubles and women doubles to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack.

Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of  an event, Kuhu said, “It is crystal clear that such terror attacks are being carried out at the behest of Pakistan. It is thus an imperative, given the grim situation, that India must boycott Pakistan in every department of sports.  I dedicate all the medals I have won to the brave-hearted soldiers who have been martyred for the cause of the nation.

Further, I would donate about 50 per cent of the amount I have won in the tournament which amounts to Rs 1, 25,000 to the grieving families of the martyrs. ”

Dwelling on her next target, she said, “My next target is to win a medal in the world championship. I am also participating in Grand Prix and Indian open championship slated in March which would be held in Switzerland and France.”
