Krishna Kanchha's bail plea rejected

The Dehradun district court rejected the bail plea of Krishna Kanchha, a  fourth class employee and resident of Rajpur who was allegedly involved in hiding the three-month- old dead foetus in the forest area at Dudhli.  SIT had later recovered it in course of its investigation. He was booked under sections 201/313 and 120b of IPC in Nehru Colony police station. The bail plea of accused teacher Chandra Kala who was also involved in this case will be heard in the court on Monday, it is learnt. A senior cop said that the case being a serious one, none of the accused is likely to be granted bail by the court.

Mention worthy, Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by SP City Ajay Singh had been formed after the charge of a physically challenged inmate of the State-run shelter home for the distressed women being sexually exploited and forced to abort the foetus had stunned the State. The grim procession of things continued as two inmates had died in a span of just three days at Doon Hospital.  Alarmed by things, Dehradun district magistrate Ravi Nath Raman had formed a team headed by additional district magistrate (finance) Jharna Kamthan with the chief medical officer and social welfare officer as its members. The team members have already begun the investigation.
