The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal faction headed by its former head Trivendra Singh Panwar has ended its protest outside the head office demanding the removal of the newly elected party Chief Kashi Singh Airy and his supporters from the party head office.
The leaders of the two factions have agreed to consolidate forces to strengthen the party.
According to Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Panwar faction) general secretary Manmohan lakheda, Airy and Panwar along with senior party leaders held a meeting on Saturday night to discuss the condition of the party.
Following the meeting the Panwar faction withdrew its protest on the issue of possession of the party head office. The senior leaders have agreed to join forces to strengthen the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal.
Setting aside their differences in order to develop the party into a viable third alternative to the Congress and BJP in Uttarakhand, the party Uttarakhand Kranti Dal
leaders have appealed to those wanting to strengthen the regional political alternative to come under the party’s
banner.
Welcoming the statements made by various leaders
about bringing various regional political outfits on a single platform, Panwar said that if the real wellwishers of Uttarakhand join and strengthen the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, the party would rise as a viable alternative to the two national parties in
the State.
The party leadership is lending serious thought to the party members and leaders who were expelled from the party in the past.
This will prove to be a indication of positive changes in the party, added lakheda.
However, political observers point out that it remains to be seen whether this change is able to salvage the credibility of the party.
The party has suffered considerably due to the factionalism and open fight among leaders for the top post in the party.
