The members of the Haldwani unit of the BJP led by Bhagat Singh Koshyari, MP from Nainital — Udham Singh Nagar Parliamentary constituency launched a cleanliness campaign under the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan on the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and late Prime Minister lal Bahadur Shastri here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Koshyari called upon the party activists and the people to make cleanliness part of their routine life.
He also appealed to the people to maintain cleanliness of their surroundings on a regular basis. This cleanliness campaign is not a programme of a particular party or an individual. It is the programme of everyone in the society. Therefore, we must take the cleanliness campaign seriously so that a clean atmosphere could be provided to all, Koshyari further said.
The members of the BJP launched the cleanliness drive here from Khushiram Park on Thursday. Haldwani unit president of the BJP Deepak Mehara and other party activists, including Chandan Bisht, Vijay Manral, Kamal Joshi, Renu Adhikari, Prema Joshi, Pratibha Joshi, Tulsi Goswami, Shanti Bhatt, Vijay Bisht, Bhuwan Bhandari Madan Fartyal, Madan Mohan Joshi, Kamal Muni Joshi, Bhuwan Joshi, Bhuwan Bhatt and Harendra Pal, were present on the occasion.
