The politics over the violence which erupted in landhaura area of Roorkee tehsil on June 1 seems to be growing with each passing day. Earlier Congress workers, and now BJP legislators are showcasing their soft corner for the victim’s family by visiting the place where Section 144 is imposed and heavy police force is deployed.

On Friday, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and MP from Nainital Bhagat Singh Koshyari was held back by police at Shantarshah check post much before landhaura village. The BJP workers did a lot of sloganeering against ruling Congress and they were arrested and sent to police line in Haridwar.

The melodrama of arrest and release on bail by BJP leaders continued on Friday with party workers and Bhagat Singh Koshiyari trying to visit landhaura village. Speaking to The Pioneer, ADM Jiwan Singh Nangyal said that on account of Section 144 it was prohibited for any political or non-political group to enter into the disturbed area.

Bhagat Singh Koshiyari alleged that the violence was flared up on the tip-off of the Chief Minister Harish Rawat who is feeling insecure after the 9 rebels have left the party. He said that he was misusing the state machinery for which the people would answer in the forthcoming lok Sabha polls.
