Amid reports of change of guard in the Uttarakhand Government, recent meeting between two stalwarts from the hill State including senior
BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Bhagat Singh Koshiyari and senior Congress leader and Union Cabinet Minister Harish Rawat has become talk of the town.
The interesting fact is that former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and senior BJP leader Bhagat Singh Koshiyari did not rule out taking place of his meeting with Rawat recently in Haridwar, during his Kumaon visit here on Wednesday.
Though he described it just a courtesy call saying "sometimes I go to meet him and sometimes Rawat does. So it is a routine courtesy meeting between us," Koshiyari added.
The matter of fact is that though the senior BJP leader tried to bring no political meaning to this meeting, he, however, maintained that the Congress led State Government would soon collapse under the burden of its own failures.
Either this Congress led State Government would fall before the general elections in 2014 or it would collapse after the completion of the same polls.
The people are fed up with the Congress led Governments both at the Centre and the State.
The kind of enthusiasm that the people had shown during the recently held Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra
Modi’s rally in Dehradun , only suggests that they (the people) are utterly disappointed with the Congress led Governments, Koshiyari said.
It is to note that although both the leader belong to rival political parties, yet there are some similarities between these two leaders.
For example, it is interesting to know that it is the long cherished dream of both the two leaders Koshiyari and Rawat to be the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
Though Koshiyari had earlier becomeable to head the hill state for a brief period, Rawat has never been able to get that opportunity, despite being a strong contender within his party for the post of Chief Minister.
However, it is a mere a coincidence or so both the rival party leaders are presently discharging responsibilities at the national politics.
