Kohli set to be State brand ambassador

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli interacted with Chief Minister Harish Rawat on phone and accepted the offer of being made Uttarakhand’s brand ambassador.

Tourism Secretary Umakant Panwar informed that the CM has cleared the proposal and the formalities to finalise Kohli as the State’s brand ambassador are likely to be completed in a week.

Meanwhile, refuting reports of being miffed at this, Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai said that he was not against the move but was unhappy about not being kept informed about it by departmental officials.

“I would talk to the CM on this”, said Dhanai. It should be noted here apart from various tourism professionals, the Pradesh Congress Committee president Kishore Upadhyay has termed the move to make Kohli the State’s brand ambassador as unnecessary.
