As part of Independence Day Celebrations, 6 Mountain Artillery Brigade under the aegis of 6 Mountain Division/Central Command organised ‘Know Your Army’ Mela at Raiwala Military Station from 04 to 05 August 2015. The event was organised as an awareness programme for the people of Haridwar, Rishikesh and Raiwala so as to give them a deeper insight into the Indian Army.
Brig Sandeep Sood, Command of 6 Mountain Artillery Brigade, said its objective was to reach out to the masses especially the younger generation and motivate them to join Indian Army as also increase the awareness of the general public about the capability and invaluable achievements of the Army.
The event commenced with a motivational movie followed by a talk on Indian Army which was very well received by the audience. This was followed by a magnificent band display by the colourful military pipe band. latest weapons, vehicles and equipment of the units were displayed demonstrating the might of Indian Army. Information Kiosks about NCC (National Cadet Corps), Aadhar/NPR (National Population Register), registration for recruitment rallies and various entries for commissioning as an officer were also put up during the Mela. These information Kiosks were visited by hundreds of curious young boys and girls who were aspiring to be part of the elite Armed Forces.
