The proposed site for Kisau Hydro power projects is not fit for a mega project, said the President of Jaunsar Bhabar Mahasabha, Munna Singh Rana while addressing the newsmen here on Thursday. Kisau project is an ambitious multipurpose project planned on river Tons and states of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh would be benefited by it.
Rana said that the proposed site is located at Sambhar Kuwanu which is tribal area in Chakrata. He claimed that Ichadi dam which is located only 7 kms from the proposed site is causing land subsidization in dozens of villages located in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. He claimed that the samples sent for laboratory and other tests are actually not from the proposed sit and are sent from the site of Nathpa- Jhakri hydro power station. Rana claimed that dozens of villages would subside and even national capital would be threatened if this dam is built at the loose sandy soil.
