More than a 100 children from Van Gujjar families, rescued bonded labourers and other deprived backgrounds visited State Governor Aziz Qureshi at Raj Bhavan on Sunday. The children came to Raj Bhawan along with Rural litigation and Entitlement Kendra head Avadhash Kaushal and were from schools run by RlEK for children from deprived backgrounds.

The Governor interacted with the children in an informal setting and talked about various issues ranging from their condition to general knowledge and their future plans. According to Kaushal, these children saw train, high rise buildings, electricity, traffic and other things for the first time in their life. They had a first time experience of a bus ride as well. It was an experience of lifetime for the children to visit the Raj Bhawan and interact with the governor. Responding to Qureshi’s question on what they wanted to become in the future, most of the children said that they wanted to become doctor, teacher, pilot or join the army.
