In order to encourage the farmers to adopt scientific method and make them aware of kharif crop-related issues and different agriculture schemes, a Kharif Krashak Mahotsav was organised in different districts of the Kumaon division on Tuesday.
State Finance Minister and MlA from Haldwani, Indira Hridayesh inaugurated the Kharif Krashak Mahotsav. Speaking on this occasion, she maintained that the farmers are facing a tough time due to damage done to their crops by unseasonal rain this year.
“But we are with you,” she said. The State Government has already announced relief packages for the farmers to help them recover from the losses they have suffered, the minister said.
Besides, the Government has also introduced new schemes and techniques to help farmers get better returns from the farming, she added. The Mahotsav would conclude on May 14.
