In the first session of the Prantiya Parishad meeting, the organiser who was making announcement to felicitate leaders one after other in the presence of BJP national president Amit Shah in Haldwani, had to face an embarrassment on Sunday. They had felicitated all noted leaders who were sharing dais but missed ex-CM and Garhwal MP Maj Gen Bhuwan Chandra Khanduri.
Seeing such a slip up member of Prantiya Parishad elicited the attention of the host towards Gen Khanduri. Although ser has apologised for this and felicitated Khanduri but the incident has raised several question.
First in Haridwar BJP national president had patted the back of Khanduri in the presence of all other three Ex-CMs, ie, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Vijay Bahuguna so they might have done this to taste the mood of prantiya parishad. As there are perceived differences between Garhwal and Kumaon regions so they might have intentionally did so to show there is no acceptance of Khanduri in Kumaon region. Although reason may be anything but two consecutive day Khanduri managed to grab attention of people and party workers as well. Is it strategy to highlight Khanduri for upcoming assembly election.
