Speaking about post- disaster 2013 Kedarnath, Chief Minsiter Harish Rawat said that they had rebuilt it painstakingly, taking all on board. “We have launched Kedarnath reconstruction work phase-2. It is a daunting challenge. But we would definitely rise up to the occasion,” he averred.
Dwelling on his development roadmap to unfold in the coming years, he said they would turn adversity into levers of prosperity. “Migration from the villages is a problem we are all obsessed with. We would ensure things take a reverse turn with those settled in the cities and towns going to villages to prosper. It would take seven years to bear fruition. Besides, we would create 20,000 women entrepreneurs in the next three years. Poor women will be given succor by way of pension,” he said.
On this occasion, CM conferred Devbhoomi Uttarkhand Khel Ratan Award, Deobhoomi Uttarkhand Dronacharya Award and life Time Achievement Award. Hansa Manral was given the life Time Achievement Award which consists of Rs 5 lakh cash and a memento. Ram Bahadur Kshetri was given Deobhoomi Khel Ratna Award posthumously while Renu Kohli was bestowed with Deobhoomi Uttarkhand Dronacharya Award.
CM also felicitated the Abhivyakti Sanstha head R S Rawat, a non- resident Uttarakhandi (NRU) and senior journalist Rajendra Joshi who has been organising Kauthig in Mumbai for the past few years under Hito Pahad Abhiyan.
He appealed to the NRIs to be part of Uttarakhand’s development progress. CM also felicitated principal, Rishikesh Public School and the students for having made one and half kilometer long Rangoli as part of Save Ganga Drive.
