Kaushik corners Govt over transporters' issue

On Thursday, BJP MlA Madan Kaushik raised two issues and managed to get ruling in his favour by cornering Chief Minister Harish Rawat, Transport Minister and Home Minister Pritam Singh during Zero Hour. He raised the issue of 900 hapless people who purchased Vikram and deposited tax before RTO after procuring permission from transport department to purchase the vehicles for transportation.

Now, their vehicles are being seized because RTO is not issuing permit to them.  Despite procuring permission and paying tax to the department, their vehicles are being impounded by the department concerned.  The Government has two options left — either you repay their invested money or issue permit to them immediately.  

Impressed with Kaushik’s oratory, CM said that he would find solution of the problem in next two days.  Kaushik asked whether it means they would get permits in the next two days.  CM Rawat laughed and said  the solution is permit only. In another issue about Sandeep Saini, who has been missing since two and half months from laxsar Haridwar, leader of Opposition Ajay Bhatt said something. But MlA Kaushik made a better presentation. All MlAs from Haridwar district, excluding treasury bench, spoke on this. 

Home Minister Pritam Singh, who used to grill minister during BJP regime, said he would ask police to conduct thorough enquiry.  Police have arrested two persons who had allegedly demanded ransom from the victim’s family and assured the house that police will solve the case shortly.  With this reply MlA Kaushik said if Saini dies then you (home minister) would be responsible for his murder so you refer this case to the CBI. Then Minister came under pressure and he announced that Government is ready to refer this case to the CBI.
