Kasiga School director Derek Mountford will address a Triangular Conference of parents, staff and students at the Annual Day Celebrations of the School on the 29th and 30th of October, 2013.
Initiating a dialogue with parents of the School on a relevant and meaningful education for their children, Derek Mountford believes that the primary focus of a contemporary K-12 education must be to equip young people with the skills for successful living in the 21st century.
Crucially, in a Knowledge Economy, he argues that what really matters for youth today is not the power to recall mere facts and figures, but the ability to innovate, invent and create something of lasting value in their lifetimes.
A firm believer in ‘Systems Engineering’, where ‘’children mirror a stimulating and engaging cosmos of learning’’ or ‘’are in danger of being buried in the arid wasteland of traditional transaction’’, Derek Mountford is to roll out a Strategic 3-Year School Development Plan for Kasiga which will upgrade and modernise all verticals within the School. As equal stakeholders in change, the promoters, parents, staff and pupils will come together to address a number of critical factors that go together to create the chemistry of widespread improvement.
