The registration of Kanwarias will not be mandatory but voluntarily and for their benefit. In order to complete the forthcoming Kanwar Mela peacefully, Garhwal Commissioner CS Napalchyal along with DIG Garhwal Amit Sinha chaired a meeting with administration and police officers at Mela control room and gave them necessary instructions on Thursday.

In the meeting, the officers discussed measures for meeting the basic needs of the pilgrims like drinking water, medical aid and others along with their identification.
