Former BJP leader Matbar Singh Kandari, who had deserted BJP and joined Congress during Tehri lok Sabha by poll-2012, is going to join BJP in next few days. Talking to The Pioneer, Kandari said that he met BJP national president Rajnath Singh and apologised for his ‘blunder’ and hoped he would re-join BJP. He further said that he curses the day when he had decided to join Congress and assured that now he would not leave BJP till his last breath.
Sources said that Kandari spoke to BJP national president and he instructed state BJP president Tirath Singh Rawat to take him (Kandari) back in party. Tirath said that let me first speak to Rudraprayag District BJP committee then I’ll let you know. With this he has given enough hints that Kandari is no more useful in BJP because his base has depleted after departure from BJP. It is known to everyone that Kandari is running unwell and two years stint he lost his connection as well because he was sitting idle after Tehri lok Sabha by poll.
Talking to The Pioneer a congress leader said that Kandari had joined congress by his own wish and now leaving congress is his personal decision. Meanwhile they have outrightly rejected that his desertion would make any impact on congress because party is like fig tree if anyone comes then it gets shadow but if he leaves then it does not make any impact. Although officially no confirmation came from Kandari side so no more
comment on it.
Talking to the Pioneer State BJP general secretary Prakash Pant said that Kandari is very senior leader and if he joins back then we would welcome him. He further said that Kandari can fit in BJP only because party believes in
internal democracy.
