Electoral battle for the post of mayor of municipal corporation of Haldwani (MCH) is going to be interesting as apart from some rebel candidates of different political parties, former Principal of Government Medical College, Haldwani, NS Jyala, is also in the race of Hadwani city mayor.
Jyala accompanied by his supporters filed his nomination for the post of mayor of MCH here on Thursday.
“Given the present state of affairs, change is a must. There are a lot of challenges as the people of this city are facing. Together we can fight these challenges,” Jyala said after filing his nomination.
Expressing concern over present day politics, Jyala maintained that he is with the people.
He said: “I am here to serve the people and above the party politics”. It is to be noted that over half a dozen candidates have so far filed nomination for the mayor of MCH. The number of candidates could more till the last day of nomination on April 12.
