The juvenile court has sent a teenager to judicial custody for fourteen days to the juvenile home in Pauri for the objectionable material posted on the social media which had led to disturbance in Satpuli on Sunday. The minor was presented in the juvenile court on Monday after police took him into custody late in the evening on Sunday.
It will be recalled that on Sunday, the teenager, whose father has two vegetable-fruit shops in Satpuli, had shared an objectionable depiction of a temple on the social media. Irked by such objectionable depiction, a mob comprising locals and some groups had ransacked the shops of the boy’s father on Sunday. The angry people had also demonstrated and gheraoed the Satpuli police station demanding action against the culprit. Following directions of Pauri district magistrate Sushil Kumar and senior superintendent of police Jagat Ram Joshi, police force from Pauri and Kotdwar were deployed in Satpuli to bring the situation under control and prevent it from flaring into an untoward scenario. The SSP informed the situation was normal in Satpuli on Monday.
