According to sources, Mohan Singh Kadakoti, Vinita Chauhan and Kanchan Yadav were going in a car from Ramnagar to Salt to teach in a school there.
The car was reportedly confronted by an elephant near the Dhangarhi nala. The three teachers got out of the car and ran into the woods out of the elephant’s reach. The elephant was said to be angry and damaged the car, turning the vehicle on its side.
Due to this, long queues of vehicles formed in both directions on the road. On being informed about the incident, the forest department personnel reached the site and fired many rounds in the air. They managed to scare the pachyderm away into the jungle after which traffic resumed on the national highway. No one was injured in the mishap.
