The Jan Sangharsh Morcha is now planning to appeal to the President of India after the JSM head Raghunath Singh Negi's applications for public interest litigations were rejected by the Uttarakhand HC last year and later by the SC. Addressing the media here, Negi said, “The JSM had filed three applications in the High Court for PIls in 2014 on alleged anomalies amounting to Rs4,000 crore involving the mining mafia in Dehradun, according the contract for construction of the Balliwala Chowk flyover, without inviting tenders, to blacklisted company EPIl and changing it into double-lane from four-lane and revenue loss in the Irrigation Department due to illegal mining despite High Court directions. Our petitions were rejected on the ground with the court stating, 'We are not satisfied with the bona fides of the writ petitioner and, accordingly, without going into the cause raised in the writ petitions, dismiss the writ petitions. It seems that the petitioner is a political person and that the petitions are for highlighting his political personality.' Our review petition in the HC and subsequent special leave petition in the Supreme Court were also rejected on the same grounds,” said Negi.
