Many media persons were not informed about newly appointed DM Chandresh Kumar Yadav's Press meet held at Collectorate on Thursday. Expecting the new DM to interact with the media after assuming charge some reporters reached the DM office.
They waited for around one and half hour outside the office but, Yadav ignored them even after being informed. An official of the district information office said, "I was informed at 10.30 am by Yadav to invite the media persons for Press conference to be held at 11 AM. But I did not get enough time to call all the media persons." Another official said that there are more than 300 newspapers and TV channels active in Dehradun which makes it tough to inform them all. The representatives of a dozen media organisations are enough for the DM's Press conference, he said. This correspondent was told by the information officer that poor mobile phone connectivity prevented him from informing the reporter about the Press meet.
