The journalists working in the district headquarters Pauri staged a sit-in in front of the collectorate, demanding a CBI inquiry in the alleged murder of Shajanpur-based journalist Jagendra Singh and also security for them in Pauri on Thursday.
Press Club Pauri, Working Journalist Association and Umesh Dobhal Memorable Trust jointly staged the agitation. A three- point charter of demands addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also given through the district magistrate.
Among those present there included Arvind Moudgil, GP Semwal, Tribhuvan Uniyal, Brijmohan Karakwal and Pankaj Rawat aside from Congress leaders Prithivipal Singh Chauhan, Umacharan Barthwal and BJP’s Jagat Kishor Barthwal.
