The Congress in Uttarakhand will be able to secure clear majority to form the State government once again with the public acknowledging the developmental works facilitated by the Congress-led State Government. All the youth in the state will be provided with jobs by the year 2020. Chief Minister Harish Rawat made these claims while addressing a public gathering held in support of Cabinet Minister, sitting MlA and Congress candidate from Haldwani, Indira Hridayesh on Sunday.
After the gathering, a road show was also held in support of the candidate on the occasion. In addition to campaigning for the senior party leader and candidate in Haldwani, the chief minister also campaigned for Congress candidate from Ramnagar, Ranjit Rawat later in the day.
Addressing the public gathering at the Ramlila Maidan in Haldwani, the chief minister appealed to the public to vote for the Congress candidate in the Vidhan Sabha election 2017. Referring to his chief ministerial tenure during the term of the Congress-led state government in office, the chief minister averred that historic developmental works had been undertaken during the past two and a half years in Uttarakhand. “The government handled such a big disaster that hit the State,” said the chief minister while also adding that the government is considering on how to provide “employment for all hands”. By the year 2020, all the youth will be provided with jobs, he further averred. Rawat said that a long term plan had been drafted for achieving this target. He also referred to the various welfare schemes being implemented by the state government in the interests of women. Rawat said, “The Government two and a half year period was full of challenges. In addition to tackling these challenges, all possible attempt has been made to boost the developmental status of the state. From the mountainous regions to the plains, developmental works have been facilitated in all the places. It is on the basis of its developmental works that the Congress will be forming its government again in the state,” claimed the chief minister. He averred that the Congress will be able to secure two-thirds majority in the Vidhan Sabha without much difficulty. The public of the state has appreciated the developmental works of the government which has in turn also increased the motivation level of the government. Now, what is left is for the public to put its stamp on these developmental works, added Rawat. “If the Congress is re-elected to form the government in Uttarakhand, it would leave no effort to develop the state into a model state of the nation. Work will be provided to hands willing to work, while opportunities for employment will also be generated. Identifying places with considerable tourism potential, the local youth will be motivated to opt for self-employment. If re-elected to form the government, we will facilitate permanent employment for 50,000 youth,” claimed the chief minister while also appealing the public to vote in favour of the Congress candidates.
The CM also campaigned for Congress candidate Ranjit Rawat in the Ramnagar constituency. He exhorted the public to vote for Rawat considering the progress achieved so far and the development which can be achieved if the Congress is re-elected to office.
