Under the banner of federation of Unemployed Yoga instructors these youths are on path of agitation from last many years. The federation is demanding that the state government should create a post of Yoga teacher in all its schools. It is of the view that Yoga instructors should be appointed in Ayurveda hospital and tourism department. The members of the federation created stir on International Yoga day in 2015 when they staged protest outside the main venue in Dehradun. The President of the federation Rakesh Semwal said that the yoga instructors have not planned any protest this year as the state chief minister has promised that the government would take measures for them. “This year we are hoping that a positive announcement on our demands would be made by the government on Yoga day’’, he said.

There are more than 15000 trained unemployed Yoga instructors in the state and they are of the opinion that since state is ideally placed to be Yoga capital of the country the government should utilise their (Yoga instructors) services in a better way.
