Divisional rail manager Chandramohan Jindal inaugurated the Rajbhasha Park at lalkuan railway station — said to be the nation’s first Rajbhasha Park here on Tuesday. The DRM also directed the officials to improve the condition of the Sumitranandan Pant library building nearby.
Appreciating senior section engineer RS Kamalbansi for preparing the concept for the Rajbhasha Park, the DRM also announced Rs2,500 cash reward and citation letters for employees involved in this task.
It should be noted here that the idea of building such a garden on the vacant spot between platforms number one and two was first considered in 2013. The scrap received from the railways was used to construct the boundary and other features of this garden apart from which a variety of trees have also been planted here. As per the Rajbhasha Rules 1976 Indian States have been categorised from the linguistic aspect into Hindi speaking, mixed and non-Hindi speaking. An attempt has been made to display Indian States as per this categorisation on a model map displayed in the park. A pond with fishes has also been incorporated into the garden developed by the railway personnel.
The Sumitranandan Pant library situated nearby will provide a collection of about 400 books in Hindi by popular authors and poets.
