The tough selection process for the elite examination for engineering entrance could be gauged from the fact that only 9,456 candidates would be selected finally in the examination. In the JEE advance, over 1.5 lakh candidates are slated to appear.
The students are aware about the tough task ahead in their mission to crack IIIT-JEE. Alok Bhatt, a student of Class XII of Saint Josephs School said that he is concentrating on Calculus in Mathematics, Mechanics in Physics and Organic chemistry as maximum questions are asked from these topics. The Head of Department of Mathematics at Baluni Classes, Rajesh Tiwari said that JEE Advance consists of two question papers of Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
The questions are of objective type (multiple choice) and numerical answer type questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates. He said the students should carefully understand the questions before marking the answers as incorrect answers to some of the questions will be awarded negative marks.
He informed the candidates will be given a two-page optical response sheet (ORS) in the examination. The two pages of the ORS will have the same layout. The first page of the ORS is machine readable. It is designed so as to leave impressions of the responses on the second page.
The candidates should not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the ORS at any stage and under any circumstance. The answers to all the questions should be marked on the first page of the ORS by darkening the appropriate bubble.
