After expressing concern over the callous approach of the Governor House for not giving time for bilateral talk, Jan Sangharsh Morcha members have threatened to kick off their agitation in front of the Governor House in the near future as the Governor Dr Aziz Qureshi has failed to redress their grievances.
While addressing the mediapersons in a press conference held in Dehradun on Wednesday, Raghunath Singh Negi, President Jan Sangharsh Morcha has alleged that the Morcha members have been continuously sending fax to the Governor House for seeking time from the Governor to share the plight of ex-servicemen.
He alleged that that Morcha has been continuously trying since February, 05 to meet with the Governor to seek his attention but was repeatedly denied by the authorities. He alleged that the only nodal agency responsible for giving job to ex-servicemen and their kin,
Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam limited (UPNl) is now-a-days busy hiring non-defence background people to various Government departments.
“It is a matter of grim concern that UPNl has given job to nearly 46 per cent to those residents, who are not having defence background, which is clear violation of rules and regulations,” he said, adding that any candidate having defence background should be offered job letter on priority basis. Negi also demanded from the Uttarakhand Governor to give time to Morcha members so that they can put their demands in front of him.
He also alleged that the Morcha members are in a mood of decisive show this time and will start protest in front of Governor House, if the members are not given time in the near future.
The members also demanding from the State Government to order high level probe into this matter so that ex-servicemen and their kin would be benefited. Vijayram Sharma, vice-president, Akash Panwar, general secretary, Amardeep Jaiswal and Ashok Gupta were
also present.
