Questions dogging the BJP over its relation with RSS, the party’s national level assistant general secretary Shiv Prakash said that his party does not have any relation with RSS and at the same time it has a relation with RSS. “While BJP is a political party being run according to its constitution many of its functionaries are RSS volunteers. There is nothing wrong in the relation as both RSS and BJP are committed to nationalism and both work with the same goal of serving the nation,” he said while addressing the concluding session of the four- day training workshop hosted by the State BJP in Dehradun on Saturday.
He further said that it is wrong to say that BJP is being controlled by the RSS. “BJP is an independent party which is controlled by its constitution. However, being RSS volunteers, we work for the RSS while touring the length and breadth of the country to advance the cause of nation’s service that RSS champions. Nobody should try to read more in the relation as it is clear,” he added.
Affirming that BJP is committed to weed out corruption, he exhorted the party workers to be on their guard against corruption. “Prime Minister has given a clarion call to free the country from the cankers of corruption. It is thus the duty of every BJP worker to fight it tooth and nail. The good impact of the PM’s stringent stance on corruption is being seen in the Centre with no scam having surfaced in three years of its tenure,” he said.
Prakash further said that BJP is not a party to cling to power for the pleasure of enjoying power. “The party exists to serve the cause of the Indian society. Discipline, transparency and hard works are the hallmarks of the party’s ideology. All the party activists must always keep in mind the mission for which the party exists,” he said, adding that the workers must spread out among the people to make them aware of the welfare projects being carried out by the party’s Governments both in the Centre and the State.
The national convener of the party and Cabinet Minister Mahesh Sharma said that casteism with its detestable fallout un-touchabity had crept into the Indian society later. “Previously, the society was an organic one with the spirit of cooperation flowing through the collective body of the nation. The unscrupulous politicians nourished the voice of casteism to divide and rule. We believe in the equality of all and service for all. The ideology must get reflected on the ground through the works of the party activists,” he said.
Addressing the workshop, the State BJP Chief Ajay Bhatt said that the people expect the BJP workers to be polite, honest and helpful.
