BJP national secretary Trivendra Singh Rawat, who is contesting by-poll against Congress candidate Heera Singh Bisht from Doiwala Assembly seat, personal image his putting hurdle in his victory.
Even he has failed to explain to the public as to why he left Doiwala only to contest the election from this seat again. If he fails to address this issue till polling, then Congress may win the seat.
Sources in RSS, who have been working hard and making door to door campaign, says that situation is very tough but will have to work hard to build candidate’s personal image; otherwise situation would be tough. He said that Congress candidate Heera Singh Bisht is currently not distributing money among the party workers and if he continue to do so, then BJP will manage.
During The Pioneer investigation, it was found that Doiwala voters are running very annoyed with Trivendra Singh Rawat, who have served the constituency as MlA between 2002-07 and as Minister between 2007-12, because he had shifted to Raipur by deserting this constituency. Although he has explained that former chief Minster Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, which Assembly constituency Thallisain was merged with other constituencies in delimitation-2008, had expressed his desire to contest election from Doiwala so he decided to vacate the constituency in his favour only.
During the Assembly election-2012, he had contested election from Raipur Assembly constituency but lost election to the Congress candidate Umesh Sharma Kau. Since then, he stopped attending individual functions like marriages and other rituals. Meanwhile, he became party national secretary and later assigned to assist then BJP general secretary Amit Shah in Uttar Pradesh during General election-2014. During this period, he maintained distance with party workers and people as well.
In General election-2014, Doiwala MlA and Ex-CM Dr Nishank won Haridwar lok Sabha seat so he vacated Doiwala Assembly seat. later, Trivendra Singh Rawat managed to procure party ticket by using his affiliation with then party national general secretary Amit Shah. Considering this association, party leaders have meekly joined and toiling in campaign. On condition of anonymity a party worker, who has been busy in campaigning said that when Trievendra decided to contest election from Raipur during the Assembly election-2012, he deserted the Doiwala constituency and gave full
emphasis in Raipur Assembly constituency. Then he was being lambasted by the supporters because then Minister Rawat did not pay heed to his request. Now same voters are expressing their anguish against Rawat.
