Buzz about transfer of IPS officers has left junior cops, including constables, head constables, sub-inspectors, curious. As the murmur about the transfer caught up pace, cops were keen to know who went where and who has been shunted. They frequently called up their pals, asking about the details of transfers (that didn't take place).
It went on till late night on Monday. Several juniors called up their pals posted in the police headquarters. Others, who enjoy rapport with the officials at home department, gave a call to them. As they got connected, they shot up the million dollar query (for them): transfer ho gaye kya (whether transfer took place), if it was so, tell them name of the officers transferred.
Two important districts were in focus. They were curious who got posting in one of the districts sharing boundary with the capital city. Other district is the world known hill station. Similarly, names of the two IPS officers found place in discussion among the police personnel.
"Though another officer is interested to be positioned in the district closed to the capital city, the senior IPS officer, presently posted at police headquarter, may emerge lucky in grabbing the position of district police chief there," a police personnel claimed, quoting a source.
Over the burning curiosity of the cops, a police personnel expressed surprise. He remarked, "I wonder why these police personnel are so keen to know about the transfers." He said that they should pay attention to their work, instead of keeping a trail on transfers.
Not only juniors, some of the senior officials were also equally keen on the matter. They also exchanged words with their friends. They were also interested in knowing the names of the officers to be blessed with the police chiefs post in the two districts, considered important after the capital city.
For the police personnel, the issue is in focus. If they are to be believed, the reshuffle will take place in near future. Hoping so, they changed the buzz from transfer huye kya to kuch pata chala kab tak ho rahe hai transfer. They also claim that wait for four-day picture will be clear.
However, senior officials at the police headquarters don't want to comment on the matter. Ask them about the matter, and they immediately say, "Better contact home department for the information on the matter. So far, there is no such development."
