Several gas agencies of the Indian Oil Corporation in Dehradun are not issuing new gas connections to the consumers. Many consumers who had applied for new gas connection 15 days ago are yet to get their connection. However, the IOC Dehradun area manager VK Sundriyal said that one can get new connection after visiting the nearby gas agency.
Sundriyal said that there is no short supply of cylinders in Dehradun from the Haridwar bottling plant. Due to summer season, the consumption of cylinders in the district has been reduced. Consumers are getting their refilled cylinder through home delivery system within three or four days after booking.
VIkram Singh Bisht who applied for a new gas connection at Himani gas agency 15 days ago said, “I have not received a new connection from the agency so far. The agency officials told me to wait for another one week for a new gas connection.”
Raipur resident Rohan said, “I recently approached Sahkarita Gas Agency for procuring new connection but they told me to visit next month for new connection. According to officials, the agency has already issued 130 new connections this month and 70 applications are in pending.”
