The interviews for the vacant faculty positions in the Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) were held on Friday in the administrative block of the college. The medical college authorities
claimed that the response for the walk in interviews for the faculty positions was very good. The interviews were conducted by two selection boards on the day.
One board was headed by the Chairman of the medical selection board Dr IS Pal himself and had Principal GDMC, Dr Pradeep Bharati Gupta and Professor Anatomy Dr SK Agarwal as members while the second board was headed by Director General (DG), health services Dr Kusum Narriyal. The Director Medical Education Dr Ashutosh Sayana and Dr Chader Praskash were members of the second board.
Dr Sayana told The Pioneer that the interviews for four posts of Professor, nine posts of Associate Professor, five posts of Assistant Professors and four positions of Casualty Officers were held on the day.
For Professors applications were invited for the General Medicine (2), Obstetrics and Gynecology (1) and Blood Bank (1).
The college had advertized for Associate Professor General Medicines (02), General Surgery (02), Radio-diagnosis (02), Anesthesia (02) and Pathology (01).
Similarly five posts of Assistant Professors of Blood bank, Antenatal Medical officer, radio- diagnosis and Anesthesia were advertised.
