Inter-Section Athletics competition concluded on Saturday late evening with creation of several new records in various events by the young cadets.
A three-day annual, mega event was organised in three categories i.e. juniors, middles and for senior cadets. In overall, Shivaji Section emerged first with 238 points followed by Ranjit Section who scored 202 points and Chandragupta Section scored 190 points and Pratap Section had to contend with fourth position with 169 points.
Cadet Aman Kumar was adjudged the Best Athlete in junior division and Cadet Tomthin and Cadet Sohail Islam were declared the Best Athletes in middles and senior division of the championship respectively.
Following new records were created in different categories of the events. Cadet Malsumzuala made new record in junior division in 100 m run category. Cadet Sachin Kumar shattered old record in senior division in Javelin Throw. Cadet louzink too established a new record in senior division discuss throw.
The Chief Guest of the occasion was IMA commandant and an alumnus of RIMC, lt Gen Manvendra Singh reminded cadets of RIMC that how privileged they were to be studying in such a distinguished school with lots of facilities and called them upon to avail all the facilities available in the school.
Gen Manvendra Singh also gave away awards and trophies to the deserving boys. Col HS Bainsla, SM, Commandant, RIMC and lt Col ERM Prasad were also present on the occasion. The event was coordinated by Birjesh Chouhan, Dean of Sports.
