Devbhoomi Aviation Company has started its helicopter services from Shyampur Kangri village on Wednesday which was inaugurated by the SSP of Haridwar. The pilgrims were seen quite elated over the chopper service being introduced.
The manager of the Devbhoomi Aviation Company Yogendra Rana said, “The air service would benefit most the senior citizens who cannot stand the hazardous journey by road,” he said, adding that the package tour of char dham includes both supplying food to the pilgrims and arranging places for them to stay in.
Asked about the fare of the pilgrimage, Rana said that char dham package per person costs Rs 5 lakh. About the quality of the helicopters used, the manager said, “These choppers were used during the Kedarnath tragedy. They are highly efficient.”
Speaking to The Pioneer, SSP Haridwar Santhil Abudai Krishn Raj said, “It is a good opportunity for the people of Haridwar as well as the pilgrims who wish to do char dham pilgrimage without undergoing the travel hassles.”
