Reacting to the Congress allegation that a host of Union Ministers is visiting Uttrakhand without announcing anything concrete for the development of the State during the BJP’s month- long Parivartan Yatra, State BJP media in-charge Devendra Bhasin said on Tuesday that such charges smack of fear psychosis seemingly set deep in the state Congress psyche. “It is queer that the Congress leaders are resorting to such cheap brand of politics. It reveals their scare in view of their impending defeat,” he said.
Bhasin further said that the fact of the Union ministers visiting the state frequently is a testimony to the seriousness the party is viewing the state with. “We are determined to convert the long- stagnating state into a developed one with the people’s blessing. The previous UPA government ignored the state’s development,” he said. “Contrast this with the development works initiated during the early NDA regime and things would be clear why the Congress leaders are scared of the present NDA regime unfolding a developmental roadmap for the state,” the state BJP leader further said.
Tearing into the Chief Minister Harish Rawat, he said that he had failed to give the state any project during his stint in the UPA government. “The performance of the Rawat government in the state is dismal. It is neither doing anything to better things in the state nor is it implementing seriously the big ticket development programmes the NDA government is initiating,” Bhasin said. Taking further potshots at the Congress, he said that they are trying their best to keep the people here in the dark about the slew of public welfare projects NDA government has launched. “This is why they are crying foul when the Union ministers are visiting the state to educate them about the development projects they have initiated for their all-round welfare,” he said.
