Inquiry may be reduced to eyewash as docs get clean chit

Published on:

The statements of the principal of GDMC, Dr Pradip Bharati Gupta and chief medical superintendent (CMS) of female Hospital, Dr Meenakshi Joshi giving clean chit to the doctors in the case involving  the death of mother and her new born baby clearly indicate that the inquiry ordered by the college and the State administration would be reduced to an eyewash. Observers say that the inquiry committee is all set to absolve the doctors and the staff members against whom charges were made of the negligence charges.

On Friday, the hospital authorities convinced the mission director NHM that the child had been born inside the labour room and not on the floor as being alleged. “Very low haemoglobin count of the woman and premature birth of the baby are being cited as the cause of the death of the mother and her baby.

No hope is left in the probe committee revealing the rot set deep into the system,” said the observer.
