Bharne said that around Rs 2.99 crore was released by 13-finance commission for building a 25-metre indoor shooting range in the state capital. This would be an ideal indoor shooting range for all sorts of weapons. Here, practice would be held all the year round and police personnel will get chance to practice firing regularly helping them in enhancing their skills, he added.

SP Bharne further said that tender process for equipments and others will start soon. The range would be completed in the next three months after which it would be available for use, he added. Currently there is two shooting range one each in Haridwar and Tehri. In Dehradun they have to depend upon Army firing range so they were not getting enough time to practice.
