Uttarakhand Finance Minister Indira Hridayesh launched e-registration and e-marriage services at the Collectorate in Dehradun on Monday. All possible steps will be taken to implement the service effectively across the State, she assured.
Inaugurating the e-registration system, the Minister said these services will help the Government to put check on corruption apart from facilitating the common people who make several rounds of the department or stand in queues for a long time outside the department for completing property registration and marriage registration works in
the State.
It was an initiative to provide simple, unhampered and transparent facilities to the people. State has followed the Maharashtra model of e-registration system and Uttarakhand will be the first State to implement e-registration services in the north India, she added.
The objective of these services was to provide the common people of the State with a simple, hassle- free and transparent system. At present, it was just a beginning, but after three months, it would become mandatory.
The effort would be to benefit the maximum number of people. Dehradun Bar Association officer bearers were also consulted regarding implementation of these services in the State. The Minister urged the officials to work online as much as possible and asked the senior officials to ensure that. Describing it as a praiseworthy initiative on the part of the State’s Stamp and Registration Department, she sought everybody’s cooperation to make it a success.
She directed the officers to lay emphasis on wide publicity regarding these services. She said those residing in the remotest areas of the State should be made aware. She directed the officers to review the system from time to time for its effective execution throughout the State. The officers found negligent on duty while executing this service will be punished, she warned. She appreciated the effort of the additional secretary (finance) Dilip Jawalkar in studying the Maharashtra model of e-registration system and implementing it in a short span of time. On the occasion, the minister handed over land registration papers to Dehradun resident Anjum Parvez Khand and Asma Parvez Khan. Additional secretary Jawalkar informed those present that the e-registration facility would provide services like e-assessment, public data entry, e-step-in, web based registration, digital copies of registered documentation, e-search, etc. This would eliminate the need to meet sub-registry officials or experts. Documents would be available in both Hindi and English. He also dwelt, in details, on the function of facilities like e-step-in, etc.
The advantage would be the availability of documents with one click. Wedding registrations forms and other necessary documents would also be available. The online link for the
service is www. registration.uk.gov.in. Jawalkar assured Hridayesh that the facility would be implemented.
