We hope that we would get a chance to prove our majority in the Assembly”, said former finance minister Indira Hridayesh after visiting Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati on Wednesday at his ashram in Kankhal to seek his blessing.
She was presented with a shawl and a Rudraksh rosary by the seer as a mark of blessing. The minister also visited the legendary Daksh temple after meeting the seer.
Stating that the High Court order was all set to go in their favour, Hridayesh said that the Governor had not recommended President's Rule. “We still wonder what prompted the Centre to impose it on March 27, a day before the ousted CM Harish Rawat was slated to take a floor test, amid chaos in the Assembly,” she said.
Asked when Uttarakhand would be devoid of corruption, she said that stringent law and the people becoming responsible would help the State come out of the vortex of corruption.
Asked for her reaction to the speculation over the nine renegade Congress MlAs joining BJP, Hridayesh said that as per the rules, they had already switched to BJP.
