State Finance Minister Indira Hridayesh distributed relief cheques worth about Rs 1.30 lakh approved from the Chief Minister Relief Fund among the poor here on Tuesday.
The needy persons who received financial assistance from Haridayesh were Heera Devi, Bhagirathi Devi, Dhani Ram, Bela Devi, Ravi Arya, Rammurti, Naveen Kumar, lila Bisht, Ramesh Ram, Bhagwati Devi, Geeta Devi, Krishna Avtar, Asha Devi and Gita Upreti. The State Government is always with the weaker sections of the society. We assure that the Government is extending all possible financial assistance to the poor who are deprived of even the basic resources, the State Finance Minister assured the needy while handing over the relief cheques to them.
There is some delay in releasing the relief cheques due to disaster but all the eligible people would be given the financial assistance, she added.
