Chief Minister Harish Rawat returning late from Allahabad as his flight got delayed due to inclement weather on Monday, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Indira Hridayesh answered the questions related to the CM’s departments raised by the Opposition.
Replying to question raised by Amrita Rawat, Hridayesh said that despite Nirbhaya Yojna being launched in the State, the cases disposed of in the districts were few: 88 cases disposed in three districts, Nainital 32, Pauri 23 and Udham Singh Nagar 33.
In seven out of the 10 remaining districts — Tehri, Pithoragarh, Champawat, Dehradun, Almora, Uttarkashi and Chamoli — procedures have been completed while in three districts — Bageshwar, Rudraprayag and Haridwar —procedures to establish Nigbhaya Yojna are in progress, the Minister said.
In another query, Amrita Rawat asked that for eight routes, transporters are being given license for three months, a thing costlier than the regular permit.
Hridayesh said that Uttarakhand Transport Corporation is planning to introduce its fleets on seven routes — lakshmanjhoola-pokhrikhal-Kandi-Paukhal-Kandakhal-Dugadda; lansdown-Goomkhal; Sargakhet-Pahadpani; Ranikhet-Koshi-Almora; Saharanpur-Khidki-Jhabreda-Sandhauli-lakhnauta-Gurukul Narsan; Manglore-landhaura and Nanaksagar-Sampurnanand camp.
In another question, Harbans Kapur asked about the share Uttar Pradesh gets from Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC). Hridayesh said that they have been getting 25 percent electricity from THDC as part of their share. “Now, we have challenged the decision in Supreme Court. Uttarkahand, which has given their land to THDC, is getting a mere 12 percent - 3200 milion unit per annum from THDC,” she said.
