The Indian Railways has cancelled the Haridwar- Puri, Utkal Kalinga Express due to the major accident which occurred on August 19, at Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. The railways have cancelled the 18478 Haridwar- Puri Utkal Kalinga expressed which was to commence on August 20 and 22 from Haridwar. Similarly the 18477 Puri – Haridwar Utkal Kalinga express also stands cancelled. Twelve coaches of Utakal Kalinga express were derailed on Saturday. In the accident 23 passengers lost their lives while many suffered injuries.
