The State Government has issued a notification on providing increased grant on compassionate grounds to the legal heirs of those who were killed or went missing in the June 2013 disaster compared to that which was announced earlier. According to the GO, the legal heirs of those killed or missing in the 2013 disaster were to get Rs five lakh (Rs1.50 lakh under SDRF/NDRF head, Rs1.50 lakh from the State budget and Rs two lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund). This has now been partially amended so that the inheritors of the dead and missing persons will now get an additional Rstwo lakh from the CM's Relief Fund. As such, those receiving the assistance of Rsfive lakh will get an additional Rs two lakh.
