Incessant rainfall continued to hit normal life even on Sunday in the district. Though it was mainly sunny, a heavy spell of rain affected the normal life badly during the evening.
Mobility remained restricted due to this brief spell of rainfall on Sunday evening, ruining many weekend plans.Waterlogging on main roads — connecting different parts of the region including the Haldwani-Kaladhungi- Ramnagar Road — only added to the woes of the people, disrupting the vehicular traffic.
The brief spells of rain have only exposed the claims of the road management agencies with rainwater flooding these roads for long. Though citizens have been experiencing some brief spells of rain for the past few days, the Sunday evening hours’ rain showers provided much needed relief from the increasing heat and humidity.Besides, farmers here also welcomed the occurrence of these brief spells of rain towards the fag end of the current monsoon season.
