Incessant rain for the past two days hit normal life here on Friday. Since it was a working day today, among others office-goers, school children and occasional visitors experienced harrowing time as it rained heavily during morning hours in the region.
However, it stopped raining in the afternoon. Though no untoward incident was reported from any parts of the region due to the heavy rain showers, vehicular traffic in urban areas like Haldwani came to a standstill in many places particularly on the Haldwani- Kaladhungi- Ramnagar Road.
Knee-deep water level on this aforesaid road made it difficult for the motorists to get through. Water-logging continued on this road till late afternoon due to poor passage resulting in disruption in smooth flow of the vehicular traffic on this road.
