In a fitting tit for tat, BJP inducts Juwantha from Cong

As if in retaliation to Chief Minister Harish Rawat, who was apparently patting his own back for bringing the Bharatiya Janata Party State senior leader Matbar Singh Kandari and his son into the Congress, the BJP inducted ex -MlA of the Congress, Rajesh Juwantha, into its membership on Sunday. He joined the BJP in the presence of two ex-CMs - Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Vijay Bahuguna which might be seen as an omen of probability of infighting between senior leaders within the BJP in the coming days.

It will be recalled here that in the recent past there were a string of occasions wherein Congress leaders joined the BJP in the presence BJP state in charge Shyam Jaju and Bahuguna which made Nishank’s presence at party office an unexpected development for some. It also stirred up talk of whether some party leaders are feeling insecure with the rising presence of Bahuguna.

Talking to media persons, Bahuguna said that chief minister Harish Rawat has released ‘Rawat ke Sankalp’ (Rawat’s pledges) which “ascertains my belief that Rawat’s game is over and BJP has won the election”. He said, “Now we are fighting to increase our strength as much as possible.”

Welcoming the ex-MlA Juwantha into BJP, Nishank said that now he has joined BJP and party’s position would strengthen in Purola and other seats of Uttarakashi district. Commenting on Congress party, he said that the party is nearly “finished” with “only CM Harish Rawat left” there.
