For the first time, a Garhwali regional movie would be shot in United Kingdom. The makers of Garhwali movie ‘Anchal’ gave this information while interacting
with media on Sunday. The movie is being is made jointly by ‘TV Giridoot’ and ‘Shilpa productions’.
The producer and director of the movie, Shiv Painyuli said that the film would be shot at exotic locations of both Uttarakhand and United Kingdom. Giving an insight about the proposed movie, he said that it would depict life and struggle of a woman born and brought up in United Kingdom but situation lands her up in Uttarakhand.
In Uttarakhand, she realised that the place is actually a heaven on earth. Painyuli said that Shailfali Bhatt is shortlisted for lead role and musician for the movie would be Sanjay Pandey. He
said that the famous playback singer Sonu Nigam has consented to give his voice to a song in the movie. Painyuli claimed that the proposed film would make the non-resident Uttarakhandis living abroad nostalgic.
line Producer of the movie, Ashish Bahuguna said that he is leaving for london soon to shoot the movie where all the works of film production would be completed. He said that one of the features of the movie is that all the crew members, artistes and technicians would be people of Uttarakhand origin.
The Secretary of Uttarakhand Film and TV Programe Producers Association, (UFTPPA), Ram Negi said that the new film policy declared by the Government of Uttarakhand has instilled new confidence among film-makers and Shiv Painyuli’s ‘Anchal’ bears testimony of this new found confidence. He claimed that the new film policy is a result of a long struggle of UFTPPA for it. Negi said that the
new policy would give new dimension to the film industry in the State.
