The Divisional commissioner of Garhwal has asked the Executives Officers of Mussoorie Municipal Council and District Panchayat Dehradun to impose ban on taxes levied on vehicles entering Mussoorie. Balliwala Dehradun resident Ajay Goyal had complained to the Garhwal Commissioner that municipal council of Mussoorie is levying an eco tax on the vehicles entering the hill station which is illegal and against the orders of the Uttarakhand High Court (HC). The complainant said eco tax is being imposed at Kolhukhet which is in violation of the HC in Public Interest litigation (PIl) number 1018, year 2008 in Ajay Goyal Vs Uttarakhand Government case.
