Even as civic authorities struggle to manage civic sanitation and related issues exacerbated by advent of rainfall, the sanitation workers at the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun had a heated argument with the Dehradun Mayor Vinod Chamoli here on Friday.
Some office bearers of sanitation workers’ body alleged that ill-treatment had been meted out to sanitation workers which would not be tolerated.
It is pertinent to mention here that the civic sanitation work in Dehradun is experiencing recurring hindrances caused by issues like strike by sanitation workers and protest by people living near the municipal trenching ground along Sahastradhara Road who had till recently blocked dumping of municipal waste here, demanding that the trenching ground be shifted.
